4 Simple Keys to Better Nutrition

If training is the only aspect of our fitness we focus on, it's as if we are trying to row upstream with only one ore in the water. Nutrition is vital, foundational in fact, to our progress and development as an athlete. However, it can be difficult to develop a strategy of how to be successful in how you fuel your body if you don't know some guiding principles. While everyone's body is different, everyone's goals are different, and everyone's needs are different, the foundations remain the same. We've found these for principles to be effecting guidance in any nutrition plan.

Eat Real Food

Real food was once alive and doesn’t come from a box or container. If it has a long shelf life it is a man-made, edible, food-like substance – not food.

Don’t Overeat

Not too much means 3-4 meals a day, no seconds, and no snacking.

Eat Mostly Plants

Mostly Plants is just that, every meal needs to consist mostly of vegetables. A plate should be covered with vegetables then the protein and starch can be added. You are allowed unlimited vegetables at each meal.

Sleep 7+ Hours

Sleep is more important than working out. No amount of working out can undo the negative effects of a poor night’s sleep.

Please remember, this is not a diet! It is a sustainable path to a healthier you. While weight loss may be a symptom of this plan, it isn’t the goal. Reducing the biomarkers that lead to the most common cause of death in the United States is our aim!
